Copy-editing, proofreading and project management, specialising in academic and scientific publishing

The short story

I am a professional editor with 20 years’ experience, both in-house and freelance. I have an academic background, specialising in the biological sciences. After completing an M.Sc. (1st class hons) in Plant Ecology at the University of Canterbury, I moved to the UK and worked as a Research Assistant at Cambridge and then Oxford Universities. I moved into publishing in 1994 and worked in-house for Blackwell Science (now Wiley-Blackwell) until returning to New Zealand in 2002. Since 2002 I have worked as a freelance editor. Although I specialise in editing scientific and technical material, I have experience in a wide range of subjects. I can work on hardcopy or electronic material, as required.
