Copy editing and structural editing (non-fiction and educational); proofreading (any subject)
The short story
Highly competent and easy to work with, I have more than 20 years of experience as a freelance editor. I have edited books in a wide range of non-fiction and educational topics, and can confidently proofread practically any subject (including fiction).
Memoirs, sports, sailing, cookery, lifestyle, gardening, how-to books, sciences, medicine and nursing, mathematics and accounting are some of the areas I cover, though I am of course not limited to these! I particularly enjoy complicated material and using new technology to advantage.
I work closely with authors and publishers to make sure they get what they want in a timely fashion and to a mutually satisfactory quality. As well as structural and copy editing, I am happy to apply standardised style tags to ensure a seamless downstream production process.
